Remember, no one will ever notice the last person to join a dance, it’s always the first few. Find the lone dancers and boldly join in. As you go into this week of Comic-Con, search for ways to bring significance and connection to the nerd tribe. It’s time for you to decide, the red pill or blue pill? One way means getting what you expect out of Comic-Con, while the other means going down an unexplored (and maybe scary) path. A crowd can inspire, create, and disrupt the status quo. Two may be a company but three is a crowd and a crowd can change things. However, being one of the first is not nearly as important as what followed. It’s the ‘second and third’ guys (you all) that has made all the difference in the world. The fact that anyone finds value in what I do is a huge blessing to me and I will be eternally grateful. I was one of the first to start blogging about Comic-Con over five years ago, since that time, a myriad more sites have been birthed that cover comic con and geek culture- and nothing has made more more happier. Not everyone can be the crazy first dancer, but most of us can spark the movement by coming along side and dancing. Whether it’s by tweeting, blogging, organizing, YouTubing, or standing outside with a sign, you can be the first few dancers that starts something big. It’s an opportunity for you to create something that brings the tribe together in a meaningful way. The outside world sees it as a place to nerd out, buy some toys, and see some celebs- but it really is more than that. Regardless of age, sex, interest, background, or orientation, we all long for the two same things in life significance and connection. The first one had the idea but the others turned the idea into something that the tribe could follow. The MOST IMPORTANT persons in the video were the 2nd and 3rd dancers- not the first one. Shortly after, more and more join in on the fun and what was once an odd couple of weirdos has turned into something that has become a memorable moment and has connected the tribe- a movement. Two may be a company but three is a crowd- and a crowd can not be ignored. However, things changes as soon as their is second and third dancers. The first person that stands up to dance can be considered weird or strange- and it’s a little painful to watch.
